Home/School Agreement

As a school we pride ourselves with our positive relationship with our pupil's parents. In every Reading Diary is our Home/School Agreement which all children, parents and teachers sign at the beginning of the academic year. It is a contract which enables all of us to work together to ensure pupils make outstanding progress. 

As a school we will……

  • Support and encourage your child to reach their full potential.
  • Encourage children to work together within an atmosphere of respect and friendship.
  • Provide a balanced exciting curriculum to foster curiosity and encourage independence.
  • Let parents/carers know if there are any problems which may affect your child’s work or behaviour.
  • Contact parents/carers if there is a problem with attendance or punctuality.
  • Arrange parent/carer evenings, send newsletters and keep you up to date with school life.
  • Set, mark and monitor appropriate homework which will support your child’s learning.
  • Provide balanced, healthy meals for your child.

As a family we will ….

  • Ensure that our child goes to school on time everyday.
  • Let the school know if and why our child is not at school on any particular day.
  • Let the school know about any worries, concerns and problems that may effect out child’s work.
  • Support the school uniform policy.
  • Support the school policy for behaviour discipline and the safety of the whole school community.
  • Attend parent/carer evenings and discussion about our child’s progress.
  • Support our child with homework and other opportunities for home-learning.
  • Show an interest in out child’s life at school and encourage a positive attitude to school.
  • Whenever possible encourage our child to walk to school.

As a child I will….

  • Work hard and always try my best.
  • Be organised and remember the things that I need each day.
  • Be courteous and have consideration and respect for other people.
  • Be co-operative, so that teaching can take place successfully.
  • Behave in a way that ensures the safety of myself, other people and property.
  • Take pride in the school uniform and the school environment.
  • Make a commitment not to drop litter and whenever possible to recycle and to care for our environment.
